School Year Begins at DPCRHS

Mary Dennemann, a teacher at DePaul Cristo Rey High School, the newest sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, explains a concept to students during Physical Science.

Our DePaul Cristo Rey High School begins the school year this week with the intense, professional work training program for freshmen. The sophomores will start on Aug. 13 with their refresher class. The CORE (Corporate Office Readiness Enrichment) Training prepares students for their introduction to the professional work world and includes sessions on first impressions, dressing for success, how to use office equipment, workplace safety and office etiquette.

During the training students will receive their Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) job assignments and have on-the-job orientation sessions at the work site which includes the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse. The CWSP allows the students to finance a portion of the cost of their education, gain real-world job experience, and grow in self-confidence. We wish each of them success as they begin this venture; may they realize the relevance of their education through the people they meet and the work they do.

The academic year for DPCR students begins on Aug. 27. We remember prayers for all students and staff members returning to school this month.
