Christmas Starts with a Laugh and a Song
By Zachary Hacker

The annual Christmas sing-a-long at the Motherhouse on Dec. 10 went off with a bang this year, and provided a promising start to the holiday season for the Sisters of Charity and staff that were fortunate enough to attend. Every member of the crowd was able to take time out of their mornings to sit down and enjoy coffee and donuts, not to mention laugh at the hilarious enactment of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” led by the fantastically outgoing S. Cookie Crowley.

Humor was shared around the room as groups struggled to depict four calling birds, nine ladies dancing, or ten drummers drumming; but in the end everyone enjoyed sharing in the holiday spirit. All in all, the sing-a-long set the tone for the rest of December and the Christmas holidays just around the corner.

On behalf of the Communications Office of the Sisters of Charity, I sincerely say thank you to everyone behind the celebration, which was very well received, and is sure to be remembered every time the traditional Christmas favorites are played or sung this year. I believe everyone in attendance will be back for more every year, since the occasion really is something that should not be missed, regardless of individual singing ability.
