Meet Our Sisters - S. Mary Kathleen Pagac

After teaching 45 years in elementary schools in Bedford, Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio, the former Vincentian Sister of Charity Mary Kathleen Pagac ‘retired,’ but continued to serve another four years as a classroom aide.
Following the merger of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity with the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, S. Mary Kathleen came to the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse on Nov. 13, 2010. Her official ministry is prayer.
What do you enjoy most about being a Sister of Charity?
“Definitely a spirit of community with a common goal of making God’s love visible to ourselves and others,” she said. “When you see what is being done, there is so much prayer in the ministry, and in the Sisters’ services being received.”What is the best thing about Community life?
S. Mary Kathleen says she senses a spirit of genuine concern for one another. “They take you where you are,” she shared. “There is a prayerful atmosphere in general with each other. It’s a home where people live with each other as in a holy place.”What do you do for fun?
“Read,” she answers immediately, “especially good mysteries – like Mary Higgins Clark. I enjoying working Sudoku puzzles, and listening to classical music. I appreciate the composers’ musical gifts.”What is your favorite way to connect with God?
“Reflective prayer, after reading a passage [of Scripture or other spiritually stimulating reading],” she answered.What would people be surprised to learn about you?
S. Mary Kathleen said she “really enjoys being with my family, appreciating a good joke, and seeing people having a good time.”
