“If God is the center of your
life, no words are necessary.
Your mere presence will
touch hearts.”

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

“Charity is certainly
greater than any rule.
Moreover, all rules
must lead to charity.”

Tell us a little about yourself.
I enjoy reading, gardening, exercising and spending time with family and friends. I volunteer through St. Teresa of Avila as a Eucharistic minister to the homebound parishioners.

How did you become acquainted with the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati?
I met the Sisters of Charity through my job at the Wellness Center. I was very blessed to be able to work with several Sisters in the water after they went through aquatic physical therapy, including Sisters Carol McCarthy, Glenda Reimer, Jo Ann Martini and the late Therese Ann Reis. Sisters Paula Mary Russell and Patrick Ann O’Connor visit the Fitness Club on a regular basis. They all hold a special place in my heart.

What compelled you to become an Associate in Mission of the Community?
I got to know many of the Sisters through work, but it was after a friend of mine, April Vale, told me that she was an Associate that the seed was planted. I ran into April a few months later, and asked her to explain the Associate program to me. She mentioned that she was just beginning a group with a few other Associate candidates that were interested. She told me to come to a meeting and see if it was something I would be interested in. She urged me, saying that I would make a good candidate based on my lifestyle and values. I explored the opportunity and felt compelled to become a part of the Associates in Mission. I have been so fully rewarded by my decision ever since.

How do you feel you carry out the spirit of Elizabeth Seton in your daily life?

I feel that I try to do as much as I can for others with what I have been given through my knowledge, talents, creativity, etc. I try to live simply and I strive to instill these values in my family.
