"The greater the work the more
important it is to establish it on
a solid foundation. Thus it will
not only be more perfect; it
will also be more lasting.”

St. Louise de Marillac

“Friendship has the skill and
observation of the best physician,
the diligence and vigilance of the
best nurse and the tenderness
and patience of the best mother.”

Patricia Hayden Honored

Last week Centura Health and St. Anthony North Health Campus (Westminster, Colorado) came together for a farewell celebration in honor of S. Patricia Hayden, who has served as the vice president of mission integration at St. Anthony Health Campus for the last 27 years. On May 7, Centura Health held a “fireside chat” with S. Pat hosted by St. Anthony North Health Campus President and CEO Kevin Jenkins and Centura Health Chief Operating Officer Eddie Sim. This was a chance to reflect on the inspiration S. Pat has provided to employees and to the ministry as well as how she has served as a beacon for remembering their visionary founders. As S. Pat would share, it is now their turn to carry the foundresses’ legacy forward with love, kindness, compassion, patience, comfort, and healing.

On May 10, St. Anthony North Health Campus hosted an open house for associates and physicians to visit with S. Pat one final time. As part of the celebration she was recognized as Honorary Nurse of the Year for National Nurses Week, and the Community Garden was also named in her honor, since she was so instrumental in bringing the community space to the health campus last spring.

Pat was elected to serve a four-year term as president of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati during the Congregation’s Chapter. Her last day with Centura Health will be May 15.
