RN/LPN Charge Nurse in Mother Margaret Hall

Full time and Part Time openings across all shifts. (8 hour shifts)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
CLINICAL SUPERVISION, NURSING AND STAFF DUTIES

  • Responsible for unit morale by providing a team based environment through effective leadership and a demonstrated positive attitude.
  • Assumes a lead role in employee issues such as discipline, performance evaluations, retention, and development of qualified personnel.
  • Works with the Nursing supervisor to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations that govern the long-term industry.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental and cross-functional personnel.
  • Facilitates unit communications by conducting regular meeting with staff personnel designed to identify and correct problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
  • Responsible for the training and skills assessment of STNA’s. Ensures all unit members are knowledgeable and compliant with resident’s rights, standards of care, policies and procedures, and responsibilities.
  • Assists with admission, transfers, and discharge of residents.
  • Participates in the preliminary resident needs assessments and in the development of a written plan of care.
  • Assess and evaluates the residents condition and reports any changes immediately to the supervisor and primary care physician.
  • Administers medications and performs treatments as directed by the attending physician.
  • Accountable for the proper maintenance of written procedures outlining the administration, storage, and control of medications and medical supplies.
  • Remains current of applicable regulations and procedures by professional publications and attends applicable seminars.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services, and staff meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as requested/required.

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of accredited RN/LPN School of Nursing with current RN/LPN Ohio License.
  • Knowledge of healthcare management practices and State, Federal and long term care rules and regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of teaming principles and applications.
  • Proficient in the development of nursing service delivery, goals, policies, priorities, or procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Federal regulations, Medicare and Medicaid certification and Licensure. Experience in long-term health care preferred.

STNA in Mother Margaret Hall           

Full time and Part Time openings across all shifts. (8 hour shifts)     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist or provide residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, etc. in order to meet their physical, spiritual and psychosocial needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPAA) and adhere to all resident rights.
  • Observe residents’ condition and communicate to charge nurse on a daily basis.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use equipment properly.
  • Assist with admission and discharge procedure as required.
  • Follow all established infection control guidelines and standard precautions.
  • Attend shift report, answer call lights, and assist residents with any rehabilitative requirements.
  • Cooperate with all nursing teams and departments to ensure all residents’ needs are met.
  • Attend and participate in all in-services, training sessions, and staff meetings as required per position.
  • Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Accept changes in work assignments as requested by the assigned supervisor.
  • Participate on committees for quality improvement as required.

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be a STNA on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Knowledge of dementia helpful, especially if working in Memory Support unit.
  • Previous long-term care experience is desirable.
